Apter Technologies provides a range of testing services by operating state of art HVAC and Molecular Filter test labs across Taiwan, Shanghai and India. The sole aim of these test rigs is to help in Research and Development of new Filtration solutions as well as assist customers in assessing their current filter’s performance used at site. In addition to this, Apter also has a commitment to improve the Indoor air quality, production and process lines and reduce and control Environmental air pollution.
Air Filter Test Labs
Our Research and Development centers are equipped with most modern Test equipment to assess fractional efficiency, pressure drop, dust holding capacity and other operating parameters of not only complete filters but also test parameters of filter media and raw material components in order to provide energy conservative and best filtration solutions for our customers. We have multiple test rig facilities capable of testing filters as per European Standard EN 779-2012, ASHRAE 52.2-2007 and the latest ISO 16890 international standard. We also have some unique test ducts to determine and improve the Life cycle cost and energy conservation of air filtration products to improve the overall customer experience so that the client gets multiple benefits by including our products in the HVAC equipment of the building and improve staff experience as well.
These Test Rigs are continuously used for evaluating new R & D product developments, supporting quality audits of Apter’s manufacturing facilities, assist with customer requested testing, and assessing competitor product performance. Our test labs maintain a database of all completed test and helps provide quick support to our Apter sales and support staff to capture customer confidence and ensure positive results.
HEPA and ULPA Testing
We at Apter clearly understand the importance of providing customers with best HEPA and ULPA filters since these are used in high purity critical environment where there can be no compromise in quality. Each and every HEPA/UPLA filters are individually tested and is accompanied by a test certificate ascertaining its leak-proof performance. The test protocol that we follow complies with the European standard of EN 1822-Recommended practices for EPA, HEPA & UPLA filters. We have automated test capability to test the HEPA filter’s Global efficiency, local efficiency and pressure drop at rated velocity. We can also test HEPA/UPLA media for determining the most penetrating particle size (MPPS) and pressure drops at very low media velocities.
Molecular Testing
Apter has made significant investment in the field of molecular and gas phase filtration. In our Shanghai facility, we have capability to test Gas phase media as well as molecular filters operated in the rig under a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions and challenged with different gases according ASHRAE standard 145.1 and 145.2. This helps in determining and comparing different gas phase media options and gas phase device options. The media and filters are challenged with elevated levels of molecular concentrations that exceed the typical applications at site. We can also mimic and mix of contaminants and gases in these applications.
Apter also provides and uses Corrosion Reactivity Coupons (CRCs) to determine onsite assessment related to air reactivity. The reactivity coupons help qualifies the presence or absence of gases like chlorine compounds, Sulphur compounds and compounds that form oxide films. The coupons are available for light and heavy-duty versions to determine the application contamination severity. These coupons are typically used in Microelectronic Industry, server rooms, data centers, commercial buildings, healthcare facility, hospital facility, refineries, schools and universities. The standard sampling time is 30 days. The CRCs Gives corrosion levels according to ISA Standard 71.04.
